For referring clinicians

Background

I’m a psychotherapist and researcher in New York City experienced in treating a wide range of conditions and concerns with evidence-based therapies and compassionate, individualized care.

I’ve also authored peer-reviewed research on the integration of I.V. ketamine and psychotherapy for anxiety, depression, and PTSD, which can offer lasting results for those who have suffered for years.

  • Even when chronic conditions like depression and PTSD go into remission, studies show that various life domains can remain affected by the prior years, or decades, of disrupted living.

I attend carefully to these domains to help clients envision, build, and sustain lives of flourishing. I provide ongoing therapy rooted in ACT and mindfulness-oriented approaches to support this work. I am also steeped in relational, dynamic, and motivational approaches that forge and deepen strong working alliances along the way.

  • Many clients can see a marked improvement from therapy alone. For those still suffering, studies now show that a combination of psychotherapy and medically-supervised ketamine infusions can produce a rapid and sustained impact on symptoms of depression, anxiety and PTSD.

I'm grateful to have worked with over 150 patients receiving I.V. ketamine for various mental health conditions.

I am also the lead author of a study documenting this effect on PTSD in 117 outpatients, now in press with Journal of Psychopharmacology. We studied patients with chronic PTSD, depression, and anxiety receiving I.V. ketamine in a supportive setting; 75% showed clinical improvement and 61% showed stable remission up to nearly one year. We also found that when patients received concurrent psychotherapy, results were even stronger.

I partner with licensed providers of medically-supervised ketamine to assess patient fit and collaborate as is indicated. I can provide focused psychotherapy in the window of neuroplasticity between infusion days.

  • I am trained in several evidence-based methods for effectively treating PTSD, including EMDR; Written Exposure Therapy, and BREATHE, a novel approach for treating comorbid PTSD and serious mental illness, which emphasizes psychoeducation and paced breathing without relying on exposure.

Let’s collaborate
